Kierstyn grew up in a small-town in northern Ontario. Sports are what sparked her passion for rehabilitation. She played every sport she could, but even after the many sprained ankles - volleyball was always her go to. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education at Nipissing University in 2016. She then pursued studies in Biomechanics while she began her journey in the health and fitness world as a rehab assistant and a CrossFit trainer here in Peterborough. Kierstyn then completed her Master’s degree in Physiotherapy at Queen’s University in 2021. She started her career in Physiotherapy in Belleville, ON, and is now thrilled to be joining the Pulse team here in Peterborough. As a Physiotherapist, she considers herself a holistic movement coach. By assessing her patient’s movement and experiences, she provides individualized treatments that include the exercise and education they need to help them achieve their goals. Kierstyn aims to empower clients to develop healthy habits and behaviors for long-term benefits. She plans to continue her education in manual therapy, acupuncture/dry needling, and movement assessment and has a desire to promote exercise in older adults, support to mom’s lifting pre & post-partum and has a special interest in CrossFit and weightlifting. Kierstyn looks forward to applying her passion for movement to help the people of Peterborough and surrounding areas to live their best pain-free, healthy, active lives. In her spare-time, she’s quite the outdoorswoman, an amateur CrossFit athlete, and a dog Mom!
